The new Cradle Mountain Master Plan has been released today in Devonport. Designed by Cumulus Studio in conjunction with tourism strategists Inspired by Marketing, the master plan focuses on the visitor experience, the sense of arrival to Cradle and how the new Visitor Centre will launch the walker, tourist or kayaker into the World Heritage Area (WHA).
Developed for the Cradle Coast Authority in conjunction with Parks & Wildlife, Kentish Council and the Tourism Industry Council, the plan proposes three key development elements – a new Wilderness Village and Visitor Centre on the edge of the WHA, improved access to Dove Lake via a Cable Car and a new Viewing Shelter on the edge of Dove Lake.

I love this place and I really like this plan. It’s a great solution to providing acces for everyone to enjoy.
The current road and car park seems unsustainable for the number of visitors.
Upgrading the road and doubling the car park would have terrible impact on the pristine environment. This plan has a good balance between accessibility with minimal environmental impact.
The added benefit is amazing views along the way which is good for people with mobility problems that can’t do the walks. If the cable car is affordable it’s a great solution!
Amazing architecture based on visitor experience. Been to cradle mountain twice already. love this place. I would love to visit this place again to experience the new architecture.
