Cumulus Studio’s Liz Walsh and Keith Westbrook have been shortlisted in the 2020 Dulux Study Tour!

This prestigious international travel scholarship supported by Dulux and the Australian Institute of Architects recognises outstanding contributions to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement in Australia.

The final scholarship recipients selected from this week’s shortlist of 30 will receive an all expenses paid international trip with the opportunity to learn from a collection of world renowned architectural practices and sites.

Both Liz and Keith have ticked off an impressive number of professional milestones in recent years and we are extremely proud to see them nationally recognised for their practice.

Liz, who was also shortlisted in the 2018 Study Tour, has played a leading design role in some of our most significant projects, including Lady Gowrie, Devil’s Corner and Pumphouse Point. Outside of her practice with Cumulus, Liz and partner Alex Nielson have also completed two multi award winning residential projects. Liz and Alex’s independent projects known as ‘#thebarntas’ and ‘#thebaetas’, have been highly celebrated by the international architecture community for their innovative use of space within challenging existing structures.

Keith is the founding Director of Cumulus Studio’s Victorian office and is currently leading a number of exciting new projects in various stages of development including The Protagonist Cafe, the Goulburn Street Affordable Housing and the Yarralumla Brickworks apartments in Canberra.

Prior to establishing the Victorian arm of Cumulus Studio in 2015, Keith was a key member of the design team responsible for the Loreto Mandeville Centre (Architectus), winner of the National Architecture Award for Education. In recent years Keith has also been a member of the AIA Victorian Chapter Council, an assessment reviewer at Monash University’s Department of Architecture and juror for the Victorian Architecture Awards.

A total of five scholarships will be awarded later this year following an extended shortlist application process.
