The concept for this relocatable waterfront structure was founded on the traditional activity of Constitution Dock and the industrial history of TasPorts.

The exterior is surrounded by giant, interlocking hardwood posts, reflecting the log ships that once travelled the Derwent River with loads of freshly cut trees. The posts encourage interaction with the building and naturally form public seating and steps to a rooftop viewing platform.

The platform, equipped with mesh railing frequently used on Tasmanian fishing boats, offers new, uninterrupted views of docking ships, ferries and seaplanes.

The pavillion interior also provides for a range of functional uses, including logistics and ticketing, offering significant amenity to the tourism-oriented client base.
