Lucia Wellington

B.BENV, B.ARCH Architect

Lucia Wellington’s respect for people, context and the natural environment drives her architectural philosophy. She is a firm believer that all people deserve access to affordable, great design that enhances their daily experiences – an ideology she was able to put in practice while working as Lead Architect at Happy Haus in Brisbane.

Since graduating from the Queensland University of Technology in 2007, Lucia has demonstrated an ability to form highly collaborative relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues. From the outset of every project, she ensures the budget and brief is held sacred and that all communication is respectful and inclusive.

In 2009, Lucia traveled to Tokyo to complete an internship with Atelier Bow Wow. This experience completely shifted her understanding of scale, occupation and materiality, allowing her to introduce progressive new approaches to design and density within her own practice.

Now primarily based in the Launceston office, Lucia has been able to thread her architectural practice with education as an active Tutor and Research Assistant at the UTAS School of Architecture and Design.
