Director Peter Walker and Associate Architects Edwina Brisbane and Claire Austin recently spoke to The Guardian about our Oak Rise Housing project and Cumulus' approach to creating socially aware designs in Australia.

The article highlighted Oak Rise Housing’s community focus and design, which looks to create a distinctive housing development within a part of the construction industry typically operating on modest budgets.

“Often with these developments there is a desire for repetition and that needs to occur … because the more repetition you have the cheaper it is to build because of the consistency,” explained Edwina.

“What we’ve done is found a way to create repetition that enables difference … so that as you move through the space it doesn’t feel like Edward Scissorhands, it feels like it’s grown over time.”
