Ben Sheehan

Experienced Architect | BIM Lead

B.Arch, M.Arch

Registered Architect QLD #5063

Hobart Studio

Since graduating from the University of Queensland in 2012, Ben has been a part of several public projects in Australia, including the Gold Coast's Commonwealth Games Athletes Village, as well as large-scale social housing and office, and low-density housing projects in Germany. His international experience has allowed him to collaborate on innovative designs promoting sustainable construction alternatives, such as high-rise buildings built from mass-produced modular timber systems.

Inspired by the simple construction techniques of traditional Japanese architecture, Ben believes the best architecture is one that responds to its surroundings, and connects people within the space to the immediate natural environment.

Two wooden sailboats resting on calm water at golden hour, their masts reflected in the still surface. Ben laying casually on a small wooden boat in a harbour setting, surrounded by other moored vessels under clear blue skies. A view from aboard a sailboat looking out across open water, with sails raised and another boat ahead.
