Jet O'Rourke

Following four years in our Melbourne studio, Jet returned to his home state of South Australia, establishing Cumulus Studio in Adelaide. As Studio Leader, he brings extensive experience and expertise in residential and nature-based tourism projects, with a focus on sensitive design solutions. Jet also has unique experience with mid-century alterations and additions, having worked on a number of significant modern heritage projects in South Australia.

On completion of his Master of Architecture at the University of South Australia, Jet was awarded the Hodgkison Graduate Prize for excellence, and the Architecture Practice Board of South Australia’s 2013 Travelling Prize in Architecture. He remains actively engaged in architectural research, and has served as a sessional tutor at the University of South Australia and Monash Art, Design and Architecture School.

Formerly a professional musician and illustrator, Jet brings his lived experience and natural creativity to architecture’s multidisciplinary approach, where he thrives on collaboration and drawing the best out of others. Jet’s wider design contribution to the practice, including on projects such as Goulburn Street Social Housing in Hobart, provides him with future aspirations to influence socially sustainable outcomes in South Australia.
