Chocolate Experience at Cadbury Tasmania

Hobart, Tasmania In Progress

Bringing a beloved Tasmanian icon back to life.

For generations, the Cadbury factory at Claremont has held a special place in the lives of Tasmanians. The Chocolate Experience at Cadbury Tasmania will transform the factory's waterfront parklands into a world-class visitor destination - one that celebrates a century of Cadbury's history on the island and the Tasmanian provenance at the heart of its story.

The $150 million project is the culmination of 15 years of research and collaboration between Simon Currant and Associates and Cadbury. Our role is to design a facility that brings together immersive visitor experiences, a premium chocolate studio featuring Tasmanian ingredients, a chocolate lounge, emporium, and the infrastructure to welcome visitors arriving by purpose-built ferries via the River Derwent.

An experience, not just a building.

The architecture needs to do more than house a program. It needs to support an experience that places visitors at the centre of chocolate-making - from crafting personalised bars to stepping into the workings of a chocolate factory. Our design responds to that ambition, creating a sequence of spaces that build anticipation, reward curiosity and connect people to the craft and community behind the product.
